From 7.5 Marks to 76: My Journey of Determination and Self-Belief
In 9th standard, mathematics was my biggest fear. I scored only 7.5 marks out of 80, and honestly, I had no idea what was happening in class. Everything felt confusing and overwhelming. I was bored, anxious, and very conscious about the upcoming SSLC exam. I even told myself that during the SSLC exam I would just look at my hands while writing because I knew nothing. That exam felt like something too big for me to handle.
But when I entered 10th standard, something changed inside me. I decided that I would not repeat the same mistake. From the very first day, I started studying seriously. I joined tuition and listened carefully from day one. Whenever school reopened after holidays, I had already prepared the lessons. For the first time, I felt like I was understanding mathematics instead of fearing it.
There was still pressure, especially because everyone kept talking about the importance of the SSLC exam. Sometimes, when we think too much about finishing everything perfectly, pressure increases. I also felt that stress. But instead of giving up, I continued working regularly. Slowly, the burden became lighter, and my confidence started growing day by day.
The biggest turning point came during the SSLC Christmas exam results. The same student who had scored 7.5 marks in 9th standard scored 76 marks. It felt unbelievable. I even became one of the top scorers. That moment proved to me that hard work can completely change our story. My confidence went higher and higher because I had seen my own transformation.
What I learned from this journey is simple but powerful. If you truly want to achieve something, you must give your 100%. Understanding may not come immediately, but it will definitely come with consistent effort. Here are the key lessons from my experience:
- Start early and be consistent.
- Do not fear exams; prepare for them.
- Focus on understanding, not just memorizing.
- Reduce pressure by studying regularly.
- Believe that improvement is always possible.
If I could move from 7.5 to 76, anyone can improve. All it takes is determination, regular effort, and strong self-belief.
